Throughout history, the advent of paradigm-shifting innovations have preceded profound social and economic changes. Twenty-five years ago, the internet was one such innovation. Today, Blockchain, or DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) is poised to become the latest general purpose technology that will reshape our society. Blockchain technology brings with it several advantages over existing models, inasmuch as it is inherently immutable, more transparent and secure, less costly, and less prone to error.
Drawing on various disciplines including legal, environmental, economic, cryptographic, etc., this course is designed for those who want to gain a basic understanding of blockchain technology, its varied applications such as crypto-currency, and the underlying dynamics of how these innovative new tools and applications will reshape our social, economic, and governance networks on a global scale.
Winter 2021 : Jan 11, 2021 & Jan 11, 2021
